The 6th grade every other day language program emphasizes foundational concepts in French, Spanish or Italian while aligning closely with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). Each unit is guided by a Statement of Inquiry that fosters connections between learning and real-world applications. The program places a dedicated focus on achieving communicative goals and promotes an enhanced understanding of cultures worldwide.
For 7th and 8th graders, daily language instruction in French, Spanish or Italian builds upon the foundation laid in 6th grade, continuing topics and themes while further developing skills introduced earlier and increasing their novice language proficiency. Additionally, it introduces new Checkpoint A topics, preparing students for the Checkpoint A Exam at the culmination of 8th grade. This program provides a seamless progression, ensuring students deepen their understanding and readiness for further academic challenges.
