CHS Engineering Students Send Judobots into Battle

Lead technology teacher Thomas Shea is hosting a perfectly appropriate fight club at CHS this week.
On Thursday morning, Shea’s second-period Principles of Engineering students completed the final rounds of their double-elimination Judobot fights.
The students used their recently acquired knowledge of hydraulics to build robots that battled on tabletops.
An NCAA Tournament-style bracket was created. And students competed against each other in a double-elimination format — trying to move their Judobot’s appendages using hydraulics to knock over their opponents’ Judobots … or at least move them off the tabletop competition ring.
Next up: a Champions League-like competition among the top finishers in each of Shea’s Principles of Engineering classes.
