Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps Visits CHS to Teach Cardiology Topics

Lynn McConnell’s College Health Professions classes learned from practicing EMTs with the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps on Friday.
The EMTs, including 2022 CHS graduate Brennan Thomann, discussed cardiology topics and provided the students hands-on training.
They brought a LUCAS device that does the chest compressions for patients in cardiac arrest and had the students operate it on a mannequin. They also showed the students the types of cardiac medicines they are able to administer on scene and en route to the hospital.
