Alum Returns to Rolling Hills as Author
Aspiring teacher Samara Ritchie returned to her primary school alma mater on Monday to share with kindergarten students the children’s book she wrote and illustrated.
“Lucy’s Knots,” which Ritchie created on Canva and hopes to get published, is about children with Sensory Processing Disorder and how differences can turn into strengths.
Ritchie graduated from Rolling Hills and then CHS and is currently a sophomore at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Ritchie’s own kindergarten photo was projected on the screen behind her as she read aloud from her book to students in Diane Gandolfi's kindergarten class.
While attending CHS, Ritchie had interned with Gandolfi at Rolling Hills.
