Burr Career Day includes Firefighter, Drone Operator and Chocolate Maker
Career Day had a special meaning at Burr on Wednesday morning.
Escorted by their own children, parents — and other relatives — visited classrooms to share details about their professions with the intermediate students.
Among the guests: firefighter Anthony Arroyo, who had fifth-grade teacher Tom Hand try on his firefighting gear, much to the delight of the class.
The visitors spanned a wide array of careers, including cybersecurity engineer, registered nurse, NYPD drone operator, accountant, air traffic controller, NYC Transit track inspector, hair salon owner, attorney, optician and chocolate maker.
In all, roughly 75 parents and other relatives spent the morning at Burr sharing details about their careers.
