CHS Fun Run Benefits Special Olympics
CHS students, staff and their families awoke early on Saturday for a pair of good causes.
The participants in the inaugural Cougar Fun Run ran a nearly 5K course that began and ended at the high school’s entrance and traversed the length of Scholar Lane.
Proceeds from the entry fee benefited the Special Olympics.
CHS’ Student Life also collected food donations, which will go to families in the Commack community in need for Thanksgiving.
Cross country runner Matthew B. won the inaugural race.
Among the other participants: CHS principal Carrie Lipenholtz.
Mack, the school’s mascot, also was on hand.
