Rolling Hills Kindergarteners Learn About Native Americans
Rolling Hills kindergarteners learned about Native Americans on Thursday via classroom visits from the Long Island Cultural Arts Studios.
The students heard about shelters called wigwams that were prevalent among Native Americans on Long Island. They also learned about wampum, which was used as currency.
The kindergarteners completed their day by planting “Three Sisters Gardens” — corn, beans and sunflower seeds.
